Christin Paglen earned her Juris Doctor (with honors) in 2002 from American University’s Washington College of Law where she served as Staff Writer for the Human Rights Brief.

Ms. Paglen has served as Vice President for Northwell Health’s Hospice Care Network, the largest hospice and palliative care operation in the Long Island/NY metro area.  This executive experience, as well as her co-authorship of the NY Academy of Medicine study entitled, The Aging of Eastern Queens and Nassau County, has provided Ms. Paglen with deep insight on how increased longevity is impacting the nation’s health care systems and regulations.

After leaving Northwell in 2016, Ms. Paglen built a boutique practice focused on healthcare regulation and compliance for both clinicians and corporations including: employment and institutional privilege concerns, insurance reimbursement, third-party payer audits and optimal organizational structuring for professional practices.  Christin also advises clients on the NY State Telehealth Parity law, requiring insurers to compensate practitioners for services delivered remotely (as if they had been delivered in-person).  Recently, Ms. Paglen has advised clients on the emergency federal COVID-19 waiver, enabling Medicare to reimburse for telehealth visits occurring in a patient’s home.

Ms. Paglen’s practice also includes successful outcomes in wide-ranging commercial litigation for clients from financial institutions to commercial trucking entities.

Since 2013, Christin has served as a professor for Stony Brook Medicine where she teaches Health Law, Health Care Economics, Aging & Society, and Grantsmanship for Health Care professions.  Since 2016, she has been a faculty member for Touro College’s School of Health Science’s where she has chaired its undergraduate program and co-directed its Physician’s Assistant Master’s Completion program.

Ms. Paglen is admitted to practice in New York State. She also co-chairs the Suffolk County Bar Association’s Health Law Committee and is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association.
